Sharing one final 2014 session! Fall family photo season is almost here, so it is time to start thinking about scheduling your session. Weekend time slots fill up first and limited weeknight sessions are available. It is not too early to choose your perfect date!

This is one of my favorite families to hang out with, so I was excited to meet up with them at Willoughby Farm for a family portrait session.


Be prepared for a bit of a walk if you choose this location. There are some gorgeous wild grasses and flowers in the nature / hiking area behind the farm, but there is a steep hill to climb on your way back to the farm. I'd say it's worth the walk!

It doesn't get much cuter than this. Twin 1 year old girls! It was a brisk December day, so I met this family at their home for the girls' session. The babies seemed to be taking turns being in a smiley mood, and both of them wanted to crawl right out of the frame.

The P family spends a lot of time in Forest Park, and during the fall it is a perfect place for a family photo session. We met at the Muny and lucked out with a warm November day and a gorgeous sunset. Mom admitted that her family hadn't had portraits taken since these girls were babies. I am so glad she chose me to capture them along with her handsome boys!

Look at this gorgeous girl! E turned one year old last fall and enjoyed some cake at the apple orchard in celebration. She was a speedy runner, too, so it was nice to have Mom and Grandma along to assist. I loved her dresses and all the accessories mom brought for her session. And look at that fancy cake! Can't wait to see you at your next milestone!

The B Family | {Family} Edwardsville, IL family photographer

I love that this family updates their family photos yearly. You can see previous sessions here and WAY BACK here. The pups are always in on the photos, and now there is also another baby girl on the way! I am imagining that the photos with 3 dogs, a baby, and a 7-year old may be a bit challenging on our next go around.
The B family had just moved into a new home with some lovely land we were able to use for a sunset session. I *always* recommend sunset sessions and here you can see why!

I met up with the J family at the campus of Saint Louis University. They had some locations in mind, and we got a quick tour of the campus while scouting a few more.


C was almost 2 and non-stop moving, but handsome all the while. I love how the family coordinated the denim and checked patterns in their clothing choices.

G is 2! | {Milestone portraits} Troy, IL child photographer

Fall photo season is just about over with the freezing temperatures and snow arriving, but sessions are still available with Carrie P Photography! With the first flakes of snow falling, it warms me up to think back on this July milestone session. The M family met me at Creve Coeur Lake on a busy Sunday morning. We dodged the bikers, runners, and dog-walkers to capture some photographs of this sweet guy who was just turning 2. He wanted little to do with the camera with all the excitement around him, but we managed to keep him out of the lake and all survived the July heat. Success!

Meet Baby B! He had some adorable rolls and chubbiness to show off.


His big brother was so gentle and sweet, and he kept commenting on how cute his baby brother is. Who can blame him?

The D family | Holiday family maternity session {Belleville, IL}

It has been such a long winter, but I am excited to get back to outdoor photos with warmer weather finally in the forecast.  And I still had one session left to blog from 2013. 

The D family was in town for Thanksgiving from Wisconsin.  We met up for family photos in downtown Belleville, and it was a combination family/ maternity/ holiday session because Mom was expecting baby #2. 



They were troopers in the cold!

This boy was chowing down on some apples during our visit to the orchard, and he managed to hold still just long enough for a bite or to toss another apple into the basket. I think he had a good time!

Fall was happily busy here at Carrie P Photography. Now that the rush of fall family photos is over, I have time to blog the last few sessions and hopefully spend some time on some personal photo projects, too. December is typically a slow month for photographers, but newborn sessions are available year round in the comfort of your (warm, cozy) home! This was my third opportunity to photograph little A - always cute and sweetly dressed! She just turned one year old which is a great time to schedule a family session and capture the whole family as baby turns into toddler.
